INFORMATION

   Irene Frish was born Irene Bienstock in Drohobycz, Poland (now Ukraine) and survived the Holocaust in hiding. After liberation, she finished high school in Poland and later emigrated to Israel where she served in the Israeli Army and attended law school at Hebrew University. She arrived in New York in 1960, married, and graduated from Columbia University, School of Library Science. She is the mother of two children and proud grandparent of four grandchildren. She presently lives in the New York metropolitan area.
